Can you describe your business in one or two sentences?
We provide businesses, big and small, with branded chocolate products that allow our customers to leave a sweet impression with their clients and staff. We use world-class chocolate combined with local ingredients to deliver quality products.
What drove you to start your business/get involved in this industry?
I love chocolate and I love brand marketing. I loved that I could bring these 2 things together to make it my dream job.
What do you love about running your business?
We saw the business for sale and thought it would be a fun business to be apart of.
What have been some of your biggest challenges?
Managing the business through COVID and the ongoing maintenance of our specialist equipment.
What is your biggest ambition?
To turn the business around to make a healthy profit so I can eventually sell it.
What does success look like to you?
Being recognised for my achievements, whether it is through selling a successful business, getting awards for our products and business or gaining recognition from the industry.
If you had to walk away from the company tomorrow, what would you be most proud of?
The year on year growth delivered even in the years after the dreaded COVID.
Who inspires you and why?
There is no one person who inspires me.
I am inspired by people who have faced adversity and overcome that, whether it is someone who has had a financial set-back and had to start from scratch again or have suffered a disability and still continue to smile at the world. The people I know who fall into this category are the people who inspire me.
What growth have you experienced being in Venus?
Confidence in being able to sell myself and my business and the confidence to network!
What’s your favourite pastime when you are not working?
Reading, or spending time outdoors with my husband, children and dogs.
